Science of Mind prayer is a declaration of Oneness with God / Spirit / Infinite Mind… It is not a request or petition. It is based on spiritual awareness through conscious right thought, brought to a focus through definite statements, enforcing the Law of Mind. For instance, when a Science of Mind practitioner is faced with discouraging or depressed thoughts, the prayer / declaration is:
God is neither depressed nor confused. There is no life apart from God. God is not afraid of anything.
If fear arises, the declaration continues:
There is no reality in this fear. There is nothing in my consciousness that accepts it. There is no real law to enforce it. And none to believe in it.
Jesus’ tenet we should believe before we receive presents the mental Law of cause and effect. Implicit confidence and faith in the Law are the chief requirements for effectiveness — seeing the result already accomplished, believing it is already done. The Science of Mind Practitioner makes declarations and releases them to the Law, knowing that a Power acts on them – believing before receiving.

Examples of Science of Mind Prayers:
I now let Divine Power flow through me. I permit the Divine Spirit to fill me with Its perfect life. I accept the circulation of Divine Life, Love and Energy flowing through my whole being. As this Divine Life flows through me it eliminates everything that does not belong to its own Perfect Being.
I am conscious that the life and the intelligence within me is some part of the Universal Spirit. Therefore, I know that my mind is one with the Infinite Mind. Being one with the Infinite Mind, my mind is continuously guided and directed and all my actions are controlled by the Spirit within me.
I know exactly what to do in every situation. Every idea for successful living is brought to my attention. Every day brings some greater good. I am prospered in everything I do. An abundance of good is mine today. The Spirit within me reaches out and communes with the Spirit in everyone and everything I contact.
Ernest Homes wrote a Declaration of Principles in the 1920’s, which are the foundation of the Science of Mind. He stated the business of the spiritual practitioner is to heal consciousness. He felt this was what Jesus had in mind
when he said seek the Kingdom first, and everything else will be added to it.
The principles are known as “What We Believe”.
WE BELIEVE in God, the Living Spirit Almighty; one, indestructible, absolute and self- existent Cause. This One manifests Itself in and through all creation, but is not absorbed by Its creation. The manifest universe is the body of God; it is the logical and necessary outcome of the infinite self-knowingness of God.
WE BELIEVE in the individualization of the Spirit in us, and that all people are individualizations of the One Spirit.
WE BELIEVE in the eternality, the immortality and the continuity of the individual soul, forever and ever expanding.
WE BELIEVE that heaven is within us, and that we experience it to the degree that we become conscious of it.
WE BELIEVE the ultimate goal of life to be a complete freedom from all discord of every nature, and that this goal is sure to be attained by all.
WE BELIEVE in the unity of all life, and that the highest God and the innermost God is one God. We believe that God is personal to all who feel this indwelling presence.
WE BELIEVE in the direct revelation of truth through our intuitive and spiritual nature, and that anyone may become a revealer of truth who lives in close contact with the indwelling God.
WE BELIEVE that the Universal Spirit, which is God, operates through a Universal Mind, which is the Law of God; and that we are surrounded by this Creative Mind which receives the direct impress of our thought and acts upon it.
WE BELIEVE in the healing of the sick and control of conditions through the power of this Mind.
WE BELIEVE in the eternal Goodness, the eternal Loving-kindness and the eternal Givingness of Life to All.
WE BELIEVE in our own soul, our own spirit and our own destiny; for we understand that the
life of all is God.
